The YS-27DX strobe on this Sea & Sea DX-860G camera is designed for multipurpose underwater photography, and is rated to 200 feet of depth. It has a beam angle of 105° x 84° and a guide number of up to 20 meters / 66 feet, providing spread and power across a wide range.
The light level control dial has nine different settings which increment from a minimum power of GN 1.7 to a maximum power of GN 20 (1EV step).
The YS-27DX offers a pre-flash cancel mode that ensures the strobe won’t fire prematurely when used with digital cameras that emit a small pre-flash burst before the main flash. This strobe is also compatible with most digital cameras that have a pre-flash, and has an optional fiber optic cable to synchronize the strobe with your digital camera’s built-in flash.
The YS-27DX’s power source is four AA batteries, which provide strength and endurance for a full day’s shooting without changing batteries. The recycle time of YS-27DX with 2700mAh nickel-metal-hydride batteries is only two seconds, providing speedy recovery for a rapid series of images.

- Special image effect settings (Black-White, Normal, Sepia, RGB) produce unique images, and sharpness settings (Soft, Normal, Vivid) control image clarity
- Nine photo frame functions to put graphic frames around your images
- Motion picture function captures video of up to 640×480 pixel (VGA) resolution at a rate of 24 frames per second
- Includes a built-in memory of 32MB and accepts SD / multimedia cards as well for additional image-storage memory
- Powered by a lithium-ion battery and includes a charger for the battery
- Compatible with PictBridge for image printing
